Psychic Vampires

Psychic Vampires or Food For Thought.

I used to believe there where such a thing as Psychic Vampires. Now I am beginning to think differently. You see each and every one of us need help and we need support of others. A lot of people will not admit to needing help. They try and suffer in silence. Sometimes the person in the state of grief will gradually take energy out of friends and family with out realising it. Blaming everyone around them, after all as friends and families we would expect this some of this.

A psychic vampire was thought to drain all the energy of another living soul for the personal gain. But why should this individual behave in such a way they drain you of all energy? It’s a big question if they new they had that effect on you do think they would continue? I believe they would be saddened to think they caused so much trouble to another living soul.

After training as a bereavement counsellor I started to consult with people in the state of grief and trauma and wondered if the effect of them where like psychic vampires.

I saw people so uncontrollable about grief they did not understand it. They had no ideal they where zapping the life out of friends and relatives until their families told them out right. In return they came to me.

I think consideration should be given before labelling anyone a psychic vampire.

You may even hear the apposed psychic vampire accusing everyone around them for draining them as they had to help deal with their losses and nobody is there for helping them to deal with their loss. This accuser being a psychic vampire is merely looking for help and support but because of the accusations made about others they will not seek out help for their loss or understand their own trauma.

Now this is starting to sound complicated but is it not true we label others because of our own insecurities? How many times have you heard the local gossip point out a fault in someone else that you know that they could identify with? I know not one of us is perfect and we all, whether or not admit it needs the support of others.

I guess its knowing when you have taken too much out of one person. But on the other hand going back to the person who points out the psychic vampire who does not like to retrieve help and you find yourself trying desperately to give them all the help knowing they have had a tough time and they are constantly going through day to day seeing the faults of everyone else becoming more and more insecure in their own world not knowing what they are doing.

When do you stop to giving? How do you stop giving them when every thought was to give best of support you can. It is difficult because you then become drained and feel you need a break from it all or you may explode. Do you tell the person they are in a state of grievance or do you let them work it out for themselves?

I guess you can not tell anyone as this would make them worse. So you let them work it out for themselves. As everyone knows they will rebel against your supportive words whether they are correct or not.

It’s all very complicated for each and every one individual case. I am hoping to help everyone to understand where this psychic vampire term came form in the first place and why it can be used. I hope by people in the mode of grievance then can recognise their own faults and perhaps help them.

But do think why you hear people labelling other people because they at the end of the day are the troubled ones and will be the one needing the support.

We all need to make our own judgment at the end of the day and think clearly for ourselves.

I do hope this has given you some food for thought and may help who ever reads this.
