Astral Projection - OBE
Everyone has their own definition of what an outer body experience is. I tend to call them an OBE or astral projection. I believe that an OBE is when you are able to detach yourself from your physical body and are able to even observe one’s self and the world from outside your own body, also being able to bring back the memory of your experience out side your body. The astral body, according to Madame Blavatsky, is the one that has an aura. It is also the seat of feeling and desire, and is generally described as being connected to the physical body during astral projection by an infinitely elastic and very fine silver cord, a kind of cosmic umbilical cord or Ariadne's thread
This experience is very common in a dream state. I do not mean just the classic dreaming in bed and you go of doing things. I mean it is possible to have outer body experiences while day dreaming.
From the age of 4 I used to think I was day dreaming when I went to visit my dad in America while living in Scotland. Everyone knows the story I was the child who hated school and would be found day dreaming every day at school. I never realised at this stage what I was doing.
At the Age of 15 I had come home from a long day and flung myself on my bed. It been a very physical day and I was burnt out. I realised after getting into bed I had left the big light on in my room and had to get back up and switch the main light out. So I did get up and looked where I was going to lie and yes you guessed it I was still laying on my bed. As soon as the fear hit me I was back in my body. I tried telling my mother about this and her response was “Oh well, you’re here now would you like to go and do the dishes”? Every time I had encountered a strange experience my mother used to ignore it!
I just assumed this type of thing must happen to everyone, you just don’t talk about it. I was 17 before an outer body experience was explained to me. It was an older lady who was known as a psychic that took me in when I was 16 and told me all about the world of psychic ability and how it worked differently for everyone. She guided me and opened me up to understanding every strange experience I had and it took me years to explain every thing to her.
I also recall getting my tonsils out under a local anaesthetic and watching the doctors removing them. I was 30 years of age and not just a little girl and fully aware of the procedure that was about to happen. Now afterwards the nurses explained to me I never met the doctor because I was under/ asleep before they took me in to the theatre yet I was able to tell them exactly who the doctor was and what their conversation was. This is the scary bit. The nurse has wheeled me out of the theatre and had taken me to an area until I gained consciousness again. The nurses had been chatting amongst themselves about a famous doctor known for his unorthodox practises and I woke up responding to them. Telling them I did not agree with their views. This shocked them as I woke up to soon. I then proceeded to tell them I needed the toilet and jumped down from the bed. Well everyone knows that your blood pressure drops and you should not stand upright after having your general anaesthetic. I said to them that I had been standing listening to them for ages and that I was fine to stand up. This was how the subject was approached that I did indeed experience an outer body experience. I was made to lie flat at once.
As strange this may seem this does happen a lot in my life. I have learned forget half of the experiences I encounter. It is hard for people to except the experience unless you experience it for ones self.
So I am going to try and explain the easiest way possible for beginner’s who are willing to try this experience. Now to me this is the simplest and works for me but there is thousands of methods and as each and everyone is different it is possible to use other methods.
Lie back and close your eyes relax your body and imagine that you are made entirely from heavy clay. Feel your arms and your legs getting heavier and heavier, as you do this, give yourself suggestions that you are getting heavier and heavier. First you’re arms, then your legs, then your body and finally your head. Imagine that you are so heavy that you are being pulled down into your bed. Say to yourself that, 'the more I try in vain to get up the heavier I become' keep repeating this until you feel so heavy that you can not move. Now, imagine that you have a body of light which begins to float out of your heavy body, see it floating upward towards the ceiling, watch as your body of light floats out of you. Watch it float up higher and higher. Once your body of light has passed though the ceiling imagine another body of light doing the same thing. Continue to do this until you feel vibrations begin within your body. When the vibrations are feeling really powerful imagine this time that you are the body of light and imagine floating out of your body up to the ceiling. Ignore all sensation which you experience and feel yourself rising up out of your body. As you rise you will be able to see your surroundings, focus all you attention on the ceiling and imagine that you are being drawn towards it.
Tips for successful astral projection:
There are 3 forms of projection in the first you can look back and see your body. In the second you will not see the body but be aware of it, and experience some duality. In the third form you will no longer be aware of the body. Your experience will be the most vivid only in this form you can project outside the solar system.
Most projections are in the first and second form
Attempt a projection when you feel slightly drowsy and examine your own subjective feelings to get in touch with your astral body.
There is no danger of not returning to the body.
You can travel to the past, present, future including the probable past, probable present and probable future.
Your dreams contain spontaneous projection. Examination of them is beneficial.
There is connection between the astral body and physical body:
Before a projection take a small amount of starchy or sugar food. A small snack before bed is good.
Remove all jewellery and metallic objects you may have on you.
